Crowle's Double Stain

DISCLAIMER: Area of suspected blood must be dry prior to the application of Crowle’s Double Stain.

1. Select an application method. 

Tray immersion: Submerge item in Crowle’s Double Stain solution for 30 – 90 seconds.

Spray application: Spray Crowle’s Double Stain solution onto item until coated and leave for 30 – 90 seconds.

2. Rinse with water or apply Coomassie Blue Rinse/Destain for 1 minute. 

3. Ridges will develop a blue color. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary until maximum contrast is achieved.

4. Allow item to air dry.

5. Capture ridge detail with 1:1 photography.
