1. Select an application method.
Tray immersion: Submerge item in 5-M.T.N. for 5 seconds.
Brush application: Brush 5-M.T.N. onto item until coated.
Spray application: Spray 5-M.T.N. onto item until coated.
2. Heat item up to 80°C with 60-70% relative humidity in a heating chamber or with a steam iron, or allow the item to air dry for 1 – 2 days.
3. Ridges will develop a pink color and can be captured using 1:1 photography.
4. Further enhancement of the developed ridge detail can be conducted by treating the item with Zinc Chloride. Zinc Chloride application will allow the developed ridge detail to fluoresce.
5. View Zinc Chloride treated prints using a forensic light source at 520nm with orange goggles.
6. Capture ridge detail using 1:1 photography and an orange colored filter.
